Empowering Girls Through Clubs - EIRWA
Adolescent engagements

We are proud to announce the launch of Girls Empowerment Clubs in three schools! This initiative aims to support and mentor at least 200 girls from these schools, providing them with a safe space to learn, grow, and develop their leadership skills. By creating these clubs, we hope to foster an environment where girls can thrive academically and socially, building the confidence needed to pursue their dreams.

Through these clubs, girls will participate in workshops, discussions, and activities focused on topics like:

  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Gender equality and women's rights
  • Life skills and decision-making
  • Sexual and reproductive health education
  • Education and career development

These topics are chosen to address the unique challenges girls face in their journey to adulthood. By providing comprehensive education and practical skills, we aim to equip them with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges effectively. The workshops are led by experienced mentors who are passionate about empowering the next generation of female leaders.

We believe that by empowering girls with knowledge, skills, and a strong support system, we can help them reach their full potential and pave the way for a brighter future. Our goal is to create a community where girls feel valued, supported, and capable of achieving their aspirations. The impact of these clubs extends beyond the individual participants, fostering a culture of empowerment and equality within the schools and the larger community.

200 Adolescent Girls

100%
Empowering rural women economically
Transforming lives

Trained 50 women in beehive construction and beekeeping. This practical training not only provided the women with the necessary skills to manage and maintain beehives but also instilled a sense of ownership and pride in their work. Additionally, another 30 women were equipped with knowledge and skills in sustainable, climate-friendly agricultural practices and supported with 100kg of ground nut seeds. These seeds serve as the initial investment in a more sustainable and productive agricultural practice, promoting food security and economic growth.

This initiative aims to enhance the economic independence and social standing of women in rural communities. By providing training in sustainable practices, we help ensure long-term benefits and resilience against climate change. The women are taught not only the technical aspects of these practices but also the importance of environmental stewardship, allowing them to become advocates for sustainability in their communities. This comprehensive approach ensures that the women are not just beneficiaries but also leaders who can drive positive change in their surroundings.

Our programs are designed to foster a sense of community and support among participants, encouraging them to share their experiences and knowledge with others in their communities. This creates a ripple effect, amplifying the impact of our efforts. The communal learning environment promotes peer-to-peer support and collaborative problem-solving, which are crucial for overcoming challenges. Furthermore, the shared experiences help build a network of empowered women who can rely on each other for advice, assistance, and encouragement, thereby strengthening the overall community fabric.

We are committed to continuing our support for these women, providing them with the resources and training they need to succeed and thrive. Our ongoing mentorship programs ensure that the women have access to expert advice and can continuously improve their skills. We also facilitate market access for their products, helping them to generate sustainable incomes. By maintaining this support structure, we aim to create a lasting impact that not only transforms the lives of these women but also contributes to the broader goal of gender equality and economic development.

DIY Re-usable Sanitary Cloth Pad Making

In addition to the re-usable pads, we have distributed over 500 packets of disposable sanitary pads to girls in need. This dual approach ensures that all girls have access to menstrual products, regardless of their circumstances. The feedback from the schools and the girls has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the newfound independence and security the project has provided.

The benefits of this project extend beyond the immediate provision of sanitary products. It also includes education on menstrual health and hygiene, aiming to break the stigma and silence that often surrounds menstruation. By creating an open dialogue about these issues, we help girls understand their bodies better and encourage them to take charge of their health.

We believe that empowering girls with knowledge and practical skills can have a transformative effect on their lives. Our goal is to expand this program to more schools and communities, reaching as many girls as possible. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that no girl has to miss school or feel ashamed because of her period.
